Pakistan and one other country could host the 2023 Asia Cup for India sports.

Unconfirmed neutral site, although probable competitors include the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Sri Lanka, and even England.

Pakistan will probably host the 2023 Asia Cup, with a different foreign location serving as the site for India's matches. After a brief impasse,  has learned that the BCCI and PCB are working quickly to mediate a compromise that could result in both teams playing their tournament matches against one another outside of Pakistan. The foreign location is still to be determined, although the UAE, Oman, Sri Lanka, and possibly England are viable candidates to host five games, including at least two matches between India and Pakistan.

The six-nation Asia Cup, which will be played in a 50-over format in the first part of September this year, has grouped India and Pakistan together with a qualifier. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are included in the other category. The final will be one of a total of 13 games that are played over the course of 13 days. The top two teams from each group proceed to the Super 4s, where the top two teams compete in the final, according to the 2022 Asia Cup format. There is still a chance that India and Pakistan will play three times.

Currently, a small working group has been established with the task of coming up with a schedule and travel itinerary that will be acceptable to all participating nations as well as the broadcaster before a decision is made. Although Asian venues will be eager to host high-profile India-Pakistan games, the weather is expected to play a significant influence in choosing the second venue outside of Pakistan.Early September temperatures in the UAE are typically around the 40-degree range, but that hasn't stopped cricket from being played there: the 2021 IPL was held there in late September, but Pakistan has played international matches there in the early part of the month. The city of Oman, Muscat, continues to experience cooler temperatures and did host the opening round of the 2021 T20 World Cup. Although the possibility of large crowds in a city like London is sure to be tempting, the option for England remains ambitious.

The members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) agreed in principle that holding a portion of the Asia Cup outside of Pakistan was the most advantageous option when they met last weekend in Dubai.between the quarterly board meetings of the ICC. After the ACC meeting in Bahrain in mid-March ended without a resolution, participants gathered for two additional rounds of informal discussions in Dubai. Najam Sethi, the chair of the PCB, which will host the 2023 Asia Cup, was on the BCCI team along with Jay Shah, the secretary, and Arun Dhumal, the head of the IPL regulating body.

Shah surprised the PCB last October when he announced that the 2023 Asia Cup would take place in a "neutral" setting. The PCB instantly reacted by stating that Pakistan would completely withdraw from the event if it was taken outside of the nation at the time, under Ramiz Raja, Sethi's predecessor. Both in the Bahrain and Dubai rounds of negotiations, Sethi reaffirmed this position. Shah claimed he made the claim while serving as the ACC president. When it became evident that Pakistan could not visit India because to the fragile political relations between the two neighbouring countries, the BCCI noted that as hosts it had successfully hosted the 2018 Asia Cup at a neutral venue - in the UAE - during the Bahrain conference.

Shah had informed the ACC that India wouldn't be able to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup as long as relations remained as they were. In Dubai, conversations started as he maintained his stance. The PCB followed suit, stating that they would object if the entire tournament was moved out of Pakistan. They would completely withdraw from the event. At one point, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) proposed to switch hosting duties with the PCB in exchange for the opportunity to host the full event, but the PCB declined.

The tournament being split between two nations, including Pakistan, surfaced after informal negotiations after a deadlock became all too evident, and it was eventually presented and considered at the official ACC meeting. It is believed that both the PCB and the BCCI were receptive to such a concept, provided that the specifics and logistics could be worked out to everyone's satisfaction. Before a formal timetable is developed, the plan will also be presented to each of their respective governments.
